This work regards cigarette butts as photographic objects that are at once universal and yet possess their own indexicality. The butts were collected while walking through the city and placed in entomological specimen boxes. Composed of cigarette butts discarded after passing through various networks—nature, society, and body—this work functions as a window that opens imagination toward the world without the mediation of images.
